Access to quality health services has been a big issue for the communities living in rural and remote areas. The poor network of health services, irresponsible behavior of health functionaries when couples with lack of awareness exist in the communities, creates hurdle in the way of accessing health services. Raising awareness on thealth issue, health services and health policies has been a permanent feature of GVePS’s endeavors.

Community Care Centre :

Community Care Centre Project was started on 11th June 2008 to provide care, support and treatment facilities to HIV positive persons. This centre is providing services related to counseling on positive life & drug adherence and treatment facilities to persons who are on Anti Retro Viral Treatment. 750 HIV positive persons were registered and provided services till March through this centre. This project is implemented with financial assistance of HLFPPT.

Targeted Intervention with Migrants in Jaipur

Organization is implementing Targeted Intervention Project in Sikar district since April 2005 successfully. Targeted Intervention with 5000 Migrants in Jaipur was sanctioned by RSACS after evaluating the achievements made in Sikar district. This project was started in November 2008 and total 8 project sites were identified in Jaipur. About 70000 migrants from different places like Orrisa, Bihar, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are residing at these sites and working at different workplaces like factories, shops and other places. Awareness generation on HIV/AIDS related issues among these target groups is carried out through different means like Puppet (Katputli) show, Street Plays, Film show etc. More then 50 condom outlets are established at different workplaces so that migrant people have easy accessibility of condoms as per their requirements.

Targeted Intervention with FSW/MSM in Sikar

Targeted intervention on HIV/AIDS in Sikar is being implemented since April, 2005 with financial support of Rajasthan State AIDS Control Society with objective of creating awareness among FSW/MSM on HIV/AIDS. This year, services on awareness generation, counseling and treatment is being provided to 400 FSW and 100 MSM through this project. Networking and advocacy is an important strategy of this project therefore, efforts on prevention and control of HIV/AIDS were undertaken with other government and non government organizations through networking and advocacy. A plan to resettle the target population is also chalked out apart from condom distribution, teasing and treatment of HIV/AIDS.


A workshop was organized on testing of pregnant women for ASHAs working in Aaganwadi centers of Sikar district. Training was provided on ways of testing of pregnant women through a kit. All ASHAs working in rural area of Sikar district were provided training at block level, This program was implemented with support of HLFPPT.


GVePS is involved in running a district counseling center for the population affected with AIDS and the population have a strong potential to be affected with AIDS. The center receives services of resident doctors and volunteers. GVEPS in managed this center in collaboration with the district health office and State AIDS Control Society – Rajasthan.


To observe International/National special day’s such as World Breast Feeding Day, World Population Day, Safe Motherhood Day and AIDS Day etc. special events were organized to spread the message. For generating awareness for health and family welfare various programs have been organized. World breast feeding day, world population day, safe motherhood day & AIDS day have been organized by the organization.


The UNFPA Program was sanctioned to GVEPS for innovative programs in deprived areas to assist community. The program was successfully organized for the population of 10,000 residing in the 14 villages.


GVPS made efforts for community ownership in Beenawala village of Dausa Panchayat Samiti and Brahmwad village of Sikrai Panchayat Samiti under Integrated Nutrition and Health Project.


GVPS organized Village Contact Drive to create awareness among eligible couples for contraceptive menthols and immunization. IEC Department of Government of Rajasthan supported the VCD program for three villages.
